Mitigation Updates and Notice of Funding
The OEM Mitigation Team wanted to provide an update on BRIC 2021 and provide notice of a new funding opportunity just received from FEMA.
HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM, POST FIRE
The mitigation team wanted to announce a new notice of funding opportunity for hazard mitigation assistance. The purpose of this email and attached memorandum is to share information regarding Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) Notification of Funding Opportunity for HMGP-PF-FM-5394-OR. Please disseminate this information down to the lowest level. In support of this additional grant round, OEM still has the ability to provide local FEMA teams to assist in application development and will be scheduling sub-applicant briefings for jurisdictions. HMGP-PF-FM-5394-OR (tied to the 2021 wildfires).
We have received our notification letter from FEMA advising of $1,752,249 in funding at this time for HMGP-PF.
- Attached is the State’s Notice of Funding Opportunity.
- If your entity is interested in pursuing the funding for this grant round, please fill out and submit a pre-application accordingly and annotate you are seeking funding under this grant specifically. A pre-application is due Monday, November 29.
- OEM Mitigation will schedule sub-applicant briefings the following dates.

Just a quick reminder that pre-applications are due to shmo@mil.state.or.us for FY21 Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) & Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) 1-week from today, Thursday, September 23. That is the first step if your entity is interested in pursuing funding under either pre-disaster grant program.

SPIRE GRANT
The Oregon Legislature has approved funding for two (2) rounds of the State Preparedness and Incident Response Equipment (SPIRE) grant. More information to follow. If you have any questions about SPIRE, contact Jim Jungling at jim.jungling@mil.state.or.us
