Wickup Water District is seeking a dependable, motivated individual to fill the position of Water Utility Worker I. This is a part-time position averaging 30 hours per week and is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation of the District's water distribution system and water treatment facilities.

 

Essential Duties Include:

• Turning water services on and off for customer accounts.
• Reading water meters and investigating usage discrepancies.
• Repairing and replacing water meters, valves, meter boxes, and related equipment.
• Performing hydrant flushing, testing, maintenance, and painting.
• Conducting water quality sampling and testing.
• Maintaining accurate records, logs, and work orders.
• Assisting with facility, grounds, and building maintenance.
• Responding to after-hours water emergencies.
• Performing work in compliance with District safety policies and OSHA regulations.

 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid Oregon driver's license required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn water utility operations and maintenance practices.

 

Schedule:  Part-time, approximately 24 hours per week, with occasional after-hours emergency response requirements.

Compensation: $25.00 per hour
