FY 2021 Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI)
WHAT DOES IT FUND?
This program invests in a wide range of projects to improve railroad safety, efficiency, and reliability; mitigate congestion at both intercity passenger and freight rail chokepoints; enhance multi-modal connections; and lead to new or substantially improved Intercity Passenger Rail Transportation corridors. WHO'S ELIGIBLE? States, local governments, Amtrak or other rail carriers that provide intercity rail passenger transportation, Class II or class III railroads, rail carriers or rail equipment manufacturers in partnership with a state or local government, the Transportation Research Board, university transportation centers engaged in rail-related research, and non-profit labor organizations representing a class or craft of employees of rail carriers or carrier contractors
