QUALIFICATIONS: Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Experience Two years of experience in an accounting position that includes completing a majority of the full-cycle accounting or auditing process functions. Certifications & Licensure Certified Public Accountant license preferred Position-Specific Requirements Intermediate knowledge of and experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required; governmental accounting and budgeting knowledge preferred. Knowledge of and experience applying financial analysis techniques to develop and prepare financial reports. Ability to prepare and archive records in a manner that facilitates efficient retrieval for review by management and external financial auditors. Ability to identify and resolve minor problems and utilize good judgment about when to involve supervisors’ assistance to resolve issues or address trends. Advanced skills in Excel.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Compensation: The current monthly salary range within a step system for this position is $5,845 - $7,908 per month. The starting pay assignment, based on a candidate's bona fide factor analysis in accordance with the District's pay equity system and the Oregon Equal Pay Act and will be in the range of $5,845 - $7,009 per month. TVF&R evaluates each applicant's work history and responses to supplemental questions. Performance-based step increases Paid time off: Vacation, sick, and personal leave accruals all begin immediately upon employment. The District recognizes 12 paid holidays per year, also available immediately upon employment. Health insurance: Full-time employees may enroll themselves and their spouses and children in comprehensive medical, vision and dental coverage, in which the District pays 90% of monthly premiums, as well as establishes and contributes funds to an HRA VEBA based on tier level. Employees with existing coverage may opt out of medical and/or dental coverage and receive a monthly stipend. Life insurance/AD&D/LTD Retirement plans: There are four methods of funding retirement savings, some of which are funded by the employee, some by the employer. Work Location: The location for this position is predominantly the Command Business Operations Center, located in Tigard, OR. While TVF&R is primarily an on-site workforce, alternate work schedules (including hybrid work arrangements) may be available.
