Timelines for OR-OSHA’s New Heat and Smoke Rules Get Pushed Out
As you may have noticed, Oregon OSHA has not filed the proposed heat and smoke rules during December, as previously planned. We received the following in an email this week from OR-OSHA:
“We are still working out some details on the drafts and anticipate proposing the rules in January and Oregon OSHA is working with the Governor’s Office to keep them up to date on the progress of the drafts. This adjustment should still allow time to have rules in place before the upcoming heat and smoke season. There will be more information to come once Oregon OSHA has the final drafts ready for proposal.”
SDAO will make sure to get a broadcast email out to all of you once the permanent rules have been proposed. Also, we are hoping the rules are proposed before the SDAO Annual Conference as this is slated to be one of the topics presented on during the risk management pre-conference session. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at RiskManagement@sdao.com.
