Neahkahnie Water District - Water District System Operator

General Position Summary:

  • Operator must reside within 30 minutes response time of the office
  • Operator may be ‘on call’ 24/7 and is compensated at 2 hours/day when on call.
  • Certification preferred but applicant must be willing to obtain Oregon level one certification for type 1 (distribution) and type 2 (treatment) within 6 months of hire
  • Must have an Oregon driver license in good standing or obtain one within 2 months of hire
  • The System Operator is responsible for the safe, legal, and efficient operation and maintenance of all the district’s infrastructure, including the water storage, treatment, usage, and distribution equipment and tools necessary for the work.
  • The System Operator must be knowledgeable in computer usage. Suggested programs to be Word, Excel, SCADA. Knowledge in both Apple and PC computers helpful.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Associate degree minimum in water treatment or related subjects
  • OR - Any combination of education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates equivalent requirements may be considered at the discretion of the Board.
  • Present certification for at least level 1 water treatment and distribution per OHA is an advantage
