Lacomb Irrigation District delivers irrigation water to 200 members and 2,200 acres.  It draws water from Crabtree Creek at the confluence of Green Mountain Creek and operates a 1 MW low impact hydro plant during the winter and spring.  Intake canal is operated through an easement with Weyerhaeuser Company and respect for our long time relationship is expected.

The District seeks interns to work in the field and on special projects integrating Geographical Information System (GIS) data collection and presentation on our website and to track project implementation and progress throughout the diversion system.

The successful candidate is a good communicator who takes initiative, works safely with minimal supervision, is curious and eager to learn new skills and is not afraid of hard work in and around water features.

Hours are flexible, but baseline daily assignment will be a 2 hour circuit drive, collecting flow levels and updating records.  Work can include weekends, but no night work Is anticipated, excepting emergencies.

Advancement will entail making operational adjustments, interacting with district member patrons and updating evolving communication improvements to better inform members of flow conditions.
