Scappoose Drainage Improvement Company is currently recruiting qualified applicants to fill the Field Operations Technician position. This is a part-time position approximately 20 – 30 hours per week. This is a newly restructured position and the Board will conduct ongoing reviews beginning 6 months after hire to ensure part-time status is appropriate.

General Position Summary:
The Scappoose Drainage Improvement Company is responsible for providing flood control and drainage for over 5,000 acres. This is accomplished through a levee system and a series of drainage canals and pumping systems. The Field Operations Technician oversees all day to day maintenance and operations of the system. This position is the sole field operations member on the SDIC staff, reporting to the SDIC Board or General Manager as directed. This position is responsible for operations and maintenance of pumping and drainage devices, including maintenance of the levee. Some irregular work hours involving evening, weekend, and on-call work is required.

• Any combination of education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates equivalent requirements may be considered at the discretion of the SDIC Board.

Benefits: Negotiable. Riverfront housing is available and could be negotiated as part of total compensation package. House is currently under renovation.
