Position Information: 

NUID is currently recruiting for a position in the Ditchrider classification.  Under general supervision, positions in the Ditchrider classification regulate the flow and distribution of irrigation water to growers, canals and ditches downstream; respond to complaints and inquiries from growers; inspect canals and ditches for leaks or spills; maintain irrigation use, records, and data.  Post irrigation season - General maintenance of district facilities, buildings and housing.  Typical duties may include but are not limited to: construction and repair of concrete structures; pipeline construction/repair (under/aboveground) including performing manual labor and use of power hand tools and equipment; operation of dump trucks and heavy equipment.  General maintenance activities can extend from Wickiup Reservoir to the Deschutes River Canyon north of Madras.
