Salary:
Accountant I: $29.21 - $41.66 per hour depending on qualifications
Accountant II: $32.84 - $46.83 per hour depending on qualifications

Job Summary

Working independently and collaboratively with others, this position plays an integral role in executing CRPUD’s mission, philosophy, and commitment to providing safe, reliable power to our community and exceptional service to our internal and external customers. All employees are also expected to maintain a high level of trust, integrity, and ethical standards.

Accountant I:
Perform general accounting activities under the direction of the Accounting & Finance Manager. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, journal entries, and various subsidiary records and ledgers. Provide support for work order, job costing, and fixed asset functions. Assist with financial audit preparations and payroll processing. Serve as primary back-up for the Accountant II and Senior Accountant positions as necessary.

Accountant II:
Perform general accounting activities under the direction of the Accounting & Finance Manager. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, journal entries, and various subsidiary records and ledgers. Audit, prepare, and process documents for payroll. Provide support for work order, job costing, and fixed asset functions. Assist with financial audit preparations. Serve as primary back-up for Senior Accountant as necessary.

Qualifications

Accountant I:

Required:  

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant Business degree, with a minimum of two (2) years combined experience in Accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license. Other driving-related requirements may apply depending on the nature and scope of responsibilities associated with driving on behalf of CRPUD.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with at least three (3) years progressively responsible accounting experience.
• At least one (1) year FERC utility accounting experience.

Accountant II:

Required:  

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant Business degree, with a minimum of five (5) years combined experience in Accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license. Other driving-related requirements may apply depending on the nature and scope of responsibilities associated with driving on behalf of CRPUD.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with at least five (5) years progressively responsible accounting experience.
• At least one (1) year FERC utility accounting experience.
