Apply now for Oregon Diesel Emissions Grants to upgrade medium- and heavy-duty diesel vehicles

Application period closes soon

May 6, 2024

Calling all Oregon business, government and tribal fleet managers and diesel mechanics!

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has a fantastic opportunity to help you update your medium- and heavy-duty diesel vehicles and contribute to a greener future.

For 2024, DEQ has approximately $8 million in grants for replacing older, polluting diesel engines with newer, cleaner technologies and exhaust control retrofits. The Diesel Emissions Mitigation Grants Program is designed to help you tackle health and environmental impacts from diesel emissions in Oregon.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Established by the Oregon Legislature in 2019, the Diesel Emissions Mitigation Grants Program prioritizes projects aimed at complying with vehicle phase-out deadlines in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas Counties.
  • As the Clean Truck Rules begin to limit the number of new diesel-powered trucks manufacturers can sell in Oregon, the grant program gives you a chance to upgrade your diesel vehicles now with financial assistance.
  • Grants from this program can help you participate in the Diesel Retrofit Compliance Program by funding needed diesel improvements.
  • What a great marketing tool! Those awarded grants improve their emissions profiles. That means they can pursue certification under DEQ’s new Diesel Emissions Identification Program.

You can be reimbursed for eligible project costs that come up when changing over to newer, cleaner technologies and retrofits, while making a positive impact on Oregon's environment Plus, DEQ now awards additional federal funds through the annual diesel grant process, making it even easier to access the resources you need for better diesel results.
