Operator in Training / Operator 1 POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operator in Training (OIT) and Operator 1 positions are entry level positions within the Operator Series. These roles are trained to perform a variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks in the District’s Operations Department. Work is completed through training along with independent work within a team environment. The work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for conformance with instructions and specifications.

Operator 2 POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a journeymen level position for the District and the third level within the Operator Series. Employees in this capacity perform a wide variety of tasks in the District’s Operations Department. Work is completed both independently and as part of a team. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for conformance with instructions and specifications. Employees in this position are expected to have a strong understanding of water distribution and water treatment practices evident by the Oregon Health Authority certifications required for this position.
