FY 2023 Energizing Rural Communities Prize

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program incentivizes the development of clean energy projects in rural or remote areas of the country by offering a cash prize pool to kickstart development of clean energy projects. Funding will be provided under two categories. 1: Partner Track, to facilitate new or existing partnerships that enable development of clean energy projects in rural or remote communities and 2: Finance Track, to connect communities to capital for current or future clean energy projects by developing innovative and functional business models. WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program enables organic waste energy and/or resource recovery at the municipal level by leveraging technical expertise and relevant data to address specific and unique issues each municipality encounters with its waste streams. Click here for more information.

FY 2023 Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) Grants

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program will train individuals, such as school personnel and emergency services personnel, including fire department and law enforcement personnel, veterans, and armed services members and their families to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental disorders and how to safely de-escalate crisis situations involving individuals with a mental illness. FY 2023 Overdose Data to Action: Limiting Overdose Through Collaborative Actions in Localities

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program supports projects that will use data to drive actions that reduce overdose morbidity and mortality in communities quickly, while addressing health disparities, with a primary focus on opioid, stimulant, and polysubstance use involving opioids and/or stimulants. WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to recruit and train emergency medical services (EMS) personnel in rural areas, with a particular focus on addressing substance use disorders (SUD), co-occurring disorders (COD), and substance use and mental disorders. WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides support to law enforcement on how to effectively partner with mental health, substance use disorder, and community service to improve appropriate and effective responses to individuals in crisis who have behavioral health conditions, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, or physical disabilities, and to achieve safe outcomes for all individuals in the community. Click here for more information.

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides funding directly to law enforcement agencies to hire and/or rehire additional career law enforcement officers in an effort to increase their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts. Anticipated outcomes of CHP awards include engagement in planned community partnerships, implementation of projects to analyze and assess problems, implementation of changes to personnel and agency management in support of community policing, and increased capacity of agencies to engage in community policing activities Click here for more information.

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides funding to support the implementation of crisis intervention teams, including embedding behavioral or mental health professionals with law enforcement agencies, training for law enforcement officers and embedded behavioral or mental health professionals in crisis intervention response, or a combination of these. FY 2023 Expanding Access to Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations (SAFE)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program seeks to establish or expand sexual assault examination programs, including sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) and sexual assault forensic examiner (SAFE) programs that focus on 1) increasing the number and availability of SANEs/SAFEs, 2) expanding access to sexual assault forensic examinations, and 3) improving the quality of post-sexual assault care using a hospital-based or community based approach. Click here for more information.
