SDIS/PACE Public Entity Agents Day

SDIS/PACE Public Entity Agents Day
Join us for the SDIS/PACE Public Entity Agents Day. This conference is tailored to independent insurance agents whose clients include public entities. The focus of this training event is to educate agents about the unique nature of Oregon public entity risk management. We have applied for state CEU credits. Sessions include:

AIR is a leading catastrophe modeling firm that works with large organizations, municipalities, and insurers, as reinsurers. Kelsey Goodman will lead a discussion on catastrophe models and their use in property catastrophe analytics.

Cybersecurity Risk Management

Karen Andersen with Eide Bailey will provide attendees with an informative session about the state of cybersecurity including current trends, cybersecurity essentials, and best practices for mitigating cyber risk.

Lisa Selby will lead a discussion of the most common threats to organizations, including losses due to employee dishonesty, credit card forgery, computer fraud and theft, and the disappearance or destruction of property. Fraud can happen in any organization, large or small, at any time, so it is important to have the right coverage.

Sexual Conduct and Sexual Harassment Involving Students
The 2019 legislative session resulted in additional training and reporting requirements for sexual conduct and sexual harassment involving K-12 students.  Some of the new requirements include additional background check requirements and annual electronic boundary training for staff, volunteers and contractors, and new reporting processes for sexual conduct and sexual harassment.  Listen to PACE attorneys review the changes and talk about the free resources available to PACE members.

Underwriting and 2020 Coverage Update
The Underwriting department staff will give an update on reinsurance and claims trends within our self-insured pools and correlate how these affect rates within our programs. Staff will also inform agents of any changes affecting the renewals and coverages for both the workers’ compensation and property casualty programs.
