Regional Risk Management Training - Tigard

Regional Risk Management Training - Tigard
Join us for an exciting presentation full of topics designed to help you and your district manage your risk. Our speakers will cover the following:
  • EAIP ideas - Do you wonder what kind of items can be purchased to help get your injured workers back on the job? We will take a brief look at some of the actual items purchased for our districts and the transitional duties performed with them.
  • The top 10 OR-OSHA citations from 2018 will be reviewed. Along with reviewing the citations, we will briefly discuss the things you can be doing to prevent your district from being cited on these topics. We will also share resources available through SDIS to help you with OR-OSHA compliance.
  • Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is a multi-disciplinary approach for reducing crime through urban and environmental design and the management and use of built environments. The strategies we will introduce aim to reduce victimization, deter offender decisions that precede criminal acts, and build a sense of community among inhabitants so they can gain territorial control of areas and reduce opportunities for crime and fear of crime.
  • De-escalation techniques- Workplace violence is a growing problem in our country. It can range from verbal abuse and threats to physical assaults to even homicide. This training will present ten simple de-escalation techniques designed to help manage and prevent difficult, and sometimes dangerous, workplace behavior.
  • Cyber basics training - Cyber threats are an emerging risk and we need to take them seriously. There are some simple strategies that can prevent most cyber-attacks. This class will focus on preventing those attacks, using our, "Top Ten Steps for Better Cybersecurity in the Workplace."
  • Defensive Driving - Driving is something we do so frequently that it has become second nature for most of us. This class will be a refresher course regarding different areas of driving. We will highlight defensive driving, how driving is affected by your attitude, and common distractions. We will also discuss how driving habits change based on weather conditions.
