SDIS/PACE Public Entity Agents Day
Join SDIS and PACE for the 2019 SDIS/PACE Public Entity Agents Day. This conference is tailored to independent insurance agents whose clients include public entities. The focus of this training event is to educate agents about the unique nature of Oregon public entity risk management. We have applied for state CEU credits.
SafeOregon-School Safety Tip-Line
This session will inform insurance agents about how they can work with their school district clients to implement a tip-line. Tip-line's reduce claim liabilities, but more importantly save lives!
SafeOregon, Oregon's statewide school safety tip-line, was created by the passing of 2016 HB 4075 (ORS 339.329) through recommendation from the Oregon Task Force on School Safety. SafeOregon's confidential or anonymous tips can by submitted 24/7/365 through five different reporting methods. Oregon State Police manages the tip-line which serves as a pass through for the tips provided by students and community members; follow-up is completed at the local level, because school, mental health providers and local law enforcement know their students and communities best.
Underwriting and 2019 Coverage Update
Charter schools are unique risks that require a higher level of underwriting scrutiny. During this session, we will discuss the liability challenges that impact our charter schools and PACE’s response to those challenges. This session will give you the tools to better understand charter schools and the liabilities associated with them.
Public education is being targeted by cyber-attacks and social engineering scams. Hear examples of the types of claims that PACE has experienced and learn about insurance and risk management solutions for preventing cyber losses.
Liability and Property Reinsurance Market Overview
We will start by discussing the recent catastrophic losses following hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria as well as severe earthquakes elsewhere and their impact on property coverage here in Oregon. We will finish up by discussing the rise of verdict values on the liability reinsurance markets, especially regarding sexual abuse and concussion litigation.
Hear about the latest trends in health care and pharmacy claims. With the status of the Affordable Health Care Act in flux, and the exponential increase in specialty drugs, the cost of healthcare does not show any signs of slowing. Learn what programs are being implemented to help slow the trend and how your clients can take advantage of such services.
